Hello Diamonds, I'm an avid lover of Natural Selection. I've been playing since Alpha which was approximately 12 years ago. This being said, I know everything is to know about the game. From the Lore (storyline) - all the way down to the mechanics. I've been a gamer all my life. I started on the Atari way back in the 80's. I was just a kid then. I wasn't spoiled by any means. In fact, life was quite rough growing up in my neck of the woods, but thanks to some rich friends who got the Nintendo Entertainment System for Christmas - I was a happy receiver of a Girl Guides Box full to the brim of Atari cartridges. My old favourites were Pac-Man. Dig-Dug. Ghostbusters, Winter Olympics, and Asteroids to name a few. Dig Dug on the Atari 2600. aaaah - memories. My favorite SNES games were Super Mario Kart. ( I owned 4 copies of the game - just for the save slots ) lol. I loved it. On the other hand, my true favourite game was probably "The Legend of Zelda", a Link to the past. I'm a Canadian. born and raised. Never seen the Ocean. I hate fish. I have also been foolish to accept my friends offering of what I thought was Onion Rings. It was actually Calamari. ( squid ) ewewwww. *sputter* I've been running Game-Servers and communities for some time. I took a few years off though to more or less do some actual reading. ( zOMG - how do you plug it in? aaaaah!!! My eyes!!! 8 bit! Nooooo ) It was a nice break from the PC. My work life used to be Mr. Suit'N'Tie. I had a nice cushy job, a fancy shmancy title. I had little worries on bills, rent, food, etc. But eventually they laid off 1500 of us minions. This was two years ago. I am since a self-employed web developer with a growing client base. My bills are paid. Six months ago, I started itching. I had free time on my hands, and I was itching to really get into the NS2 community. Another one of my friends was getting setup as a community operator, and I assisted him in getting setup and running. Unfortunately things did not go well as our visions were not parallel and thus I chose to start my own community based on serving others as opposed to the latter. I needed some help though. So my first order of business was finding someone that had the will and desire to serve a community. I'm not sure if God had a part to play in it, but Skulkbait came onboard and has since been there at my side, and I'm happy to say that he's an integral part of the community. As such, I'd like the community to think of him as a co-owner. Because that's how I feel. Although he doesn't put in as much time as I do on the forefront, I hear that he's working on a few things in the background that should liven up the world a bit later. The Diamond Community is born and to keep the thread short, here's a small snippit of the Diamond Vision statement. 1) To serve others. 2) To manage a community that assists in the longevity of the NS2 Community as a whole. 3) To serve my needs. I enjoy running communities and giving people a real sense of belonging. The Brand "Diamonds" has a slogan "A Rich Gaming Experience" Let me explain this one. Many people want Admin status. They want the level of control as they feel they deserve it. How does one deserve Admin? The true answer is that you need to be able to serve others. You become an admin NOT to suit your needs, NOT to give you a sense of power, because honestly - if that's how it is. I'll squash you like a fucking bug. Admins are here to ensure that Diamonds are having fun, are protected, and are respected at all times. This is why I am so adamant about absolutely no harassment. Admins are here to ensure others "Have a Rich Gaming Experience". So that's about it. I do plan on growing this community each and every day. I spend 30 hours a week on the forums, and serving Diamonds ( excludes playtime ). At the moment, I'm working on seeing what direction we're headed in. I'm able to put up servers, but I need to know what people want, and before I can do that, we need to work together and as Rihanna says "Shine bright like a Diamond". ~Rusty
