Hi everyone! This is WiseChoices with DiamondGamers. Below are some tips on how to be a good marine commander through some basic tips, structure placement, and build strategies. BASIC TIPS: Microphone - Highly recommended! It's very difficult to type while commanding. Press C - Check your map constantly. You might be getting base rushed and not even know it. Press Spacebar - Every time you hear "medpack", "I need ammo", "your base is under attack". Fast Medpack/Ammo - Learn the hotkeys for dropping medpacks/ammo. Press E then A or S. Early Medding - In the early part of the game, do not spend too much res on Medpacks/Ammo. You need it to buy upgrades. Distress Beacon - DO NOT click this unless you absolutely need all of your marines back at your techpoint. Keep 10res if you expect a rush. Recycle structures - If your marines aren't near structures that are going to be destroyed, sell them and salvage the res. Infantry Portals - If your marines are dying faster than respawning, build another infantry portal. Medium games need 2 IPs, large games need 3 IPs. Press Tab - See how many marines are dead. Look at their personal res (pres) and see if anyone is saving up for exosuits. STRUCTURES: Extractors - Building extractors is the highest priority. The more you have, the more team res (tres) and pres will accumulate. ArmsLab - Recommended that you build this structure first and get Armor1, then Weapon1. This structure is targeted by Aliens, so hide it well. Armory - Your marines will be collecting a lot of pres and will need to spend it on something, especially Welders. Try to build these fairly close to PhaseGates. Observatory - Alien detection is extremely helpful for marines and for stopping base rushes. This structure is extremely targeted by Aliens, so build two PrototypeLab - Always get Jepacks first, then get Exoskeletons (Exos). This structure is barely targeted by Aliens. RoboticsFactory - Avoid buying this unless you plan on building ARCs for rushing, or MACs for repairing Exos and building while your marines fight. This structure is targeted by Aliens, so hide it well. Sentry Turrets & Sentry Battery - Do not buy these unless you are playing a very small game and lack people to defend structures. They are expensive and easy to destroy. If you do buy them, aim the sentries at the battery.
