Okay so to make a long story short, the admin's and low level peons like me have been kicking around some idea's for the server and want some input from the players on the server. So just going to throw a little list out please if you feel the need to bring up something that i have not listed go ahead. And lets discuss. ---Its already been talked about but making bases not indestructible. ---Adding donator domes. (be a 15*15 or maybe 30*30 invisible dome that only people that's uid is programed can enter the dome) ---Jet's Tanks and apc's basically making the server more militarized. Could also include rocket launchers and stinger missiles and such. ---and anything YOU as a player think could add to the server.
Responses to OP. I believe donator domes might be a bit broken, if you do make bases destructible, this is basically making it pay to win as a donator could get this, build a base inside, go pillage, and stash his stuff with no worries of retaliation. The donator perks you have so far are a great balance, they give those people an advantage without "breaking the game" as it were. While one could argue a donator having a better starting load out gives them a huge advantage, if a non donator kills them the no donator receives the stuff. As for tanks, maybe for special events but not a all the time thing. They are insanely broken for DayZ and they are almost impossible to kill except by another tank or a lucky shot from an RPG, While adding RPG's will help balance it out, it don't do much unless you beef the AI up to use them as well, or be a little more spread out. A single RPG round can kill off an entire AI mission, I've done it. But if you show up in a tank your are invincible. Balance is the issue all over, players with tanks are too strong, the roll AI missions and sit there while they gun them down, or take ridiculous fire from other players while still sitting still. Giving the AI RPG's would help counter player tanks, but players without tanks would stand almost no chance of completing the mission. Planes might work minus the problem of nowhere to land. there are 3 air strips, and rules state we can not build a base at these places, so we would be hard pressed to fly and store said plane, a way to deal with this would be place more hangars at the air fields and allow players to buy them and make the entire airfield a safe zone. As well as limiting each player to one hangar. The above is jut my experience / opinion, take it as you will. My ideas, more food for thought. The BIG idea I have (and I mean big as in it would be a project). Would be to open a second server using either Lingor or the German map, then placing a travel agent at one of the airstrips or a harbor that would in short, take the player and their current inventory between the 2 maps. I have never seen this done, and I believe doing it would spike the servers traffic tremendously. Another idea would be to leave the normal 4 hour restarts in as they are now, but from let's say 8p - 4A, there be no restarts. This would skip only 1 restart cycle to help prevent server lag from getting overwhelming, but it would also offer an opportunity for some night play, making the NVG's in the game have a use. Making the dark actually dark so people can't crank their gamma up and have no problems would be a plus, being we already spawn with a flashlight. Halo spawn is also one of my personal favorites, this one I would say put up to a vote for the whole server. It gives you a way to get closer to your corpse when there are fewer people online as you can pop your chute early and get a decent distance from shore line, but prevent you from respawning in the same village you were just killed in, to kill your killer. Clan battles might be cool. Once a week have a clan battle day / hour, and allow clans to fight for supplies, be it building supplies, food, ammo, vehicles, what have you. This would entice people to be more into joining a clan, instead of solo playing, but at the same time not forcing them into one in order to play and be productive. Just maybe having plot poles destroy zeds within the borders, I have been told it stops the zeds from spawning, but currently the zeds will walk through a locked door that is shut. I may be missing something with this one, if I am please tell me, but I have been wrecked due to a zed walking through my locked door too many time to not request this. Hello! new to the server, new to the forums. I am not certain what the thought would be behind the domes. I feel that if you fortify and plan, you can keep most of your stuff. Having a base that no one else can get into sounds great, but the downside would be simply walking into that area and being nearly invincible. If I get a solid base, with a few doors, and no one else can get into it, then I have an absolutely safe place. I think that is a bit overpowered, personally. Can you flesh that idea out for us, maybe help me see what you want to do? Ah, tanks. But no tanks. Please. I've yet to see anyone in a tank who does not simply rule over the server. APC's, well, they're better. But you're still looking at a place where you can hole up and kill people, and they can't really strike back. I'm personally fine with jets, though, as there are so few good pilots. Especially with planes, when there are so few places to land? You might see someone get a good destructive run in once in a while, but the most likely scenario is that they crash pretty quickly. If you look into the VTOL jets, that could be a whole 'nother ballgame. I like what I've seen so far. And I've only been on for an hour or three overall, so I don't have any suggestions.

Thank you for the suggestions. I agree that base domes would be OP. Tanks would be restricted to 50cal. or less and be non tracked vehicles. Tracked tanks if added would be non assualtive and only APC's but I am not looking at this option. APC's, heli's like pooks , bells, etc. will be added in. Players can purchase complete bases for $50+ pending what they want and where they want it. These will follow the same guidelines for "indestructible / destructible" as other items on the server. The difference is that if bases are destructible - those that have purchased a building will have it respawn at every restart. To remove Indestructible means that base raids etc. would be accepted. There would need to be some rules set around such which would involve a lot of administrators constantly monitoring the server in which that man power is not there. This is because the more admins we have, the higher the chances someone cam abuse that authority. I currently have only absolute trusted admins, and myself to stay unbiased rarely engage in combat with others meaning that my work is mostly done behind the scenes to ensure that DiamondGamers remains in a league of it's own. Domes were thought of in the event that I remove indestructible allowing complete obliteration of anyones base. Adding in domes would be done in such a way that they are small. They give decent warnings, and would allow me to make some upkeep money on a regular basis. As such I would implement this as a monthly donation for $15 / month. Now in saying this - there would be guidelines to prevent "rape n stash" scenarios. One would be that the dome would be only to protect vehicles and structures. No safes would be allowed within the domes. Also note that this is all in my thought process and will be revised as suggestions and input comes in. I am looking at adding in additional airfields however until we gain our old population back (which we have lost some players in the gamespy / steam changeover ) I am focusing my time on what needs to be completed now. With Indestructible on, we know that doors, buildings, and all buildables are non destructible. I was thinking of having weekends with Indestructible off, making all bases succeptable to raids and destruction. This is a PVP server and having no base raids is not an option. There needs to be rules surrounding this I agree and thus want some input from my playerbase on what you feel is fair. Democracy wins. Plot poles will stay as they are, and they will not destroy wandering zeds. This is DayZ, nor Arma and although there are parameters set to disable spawning near plot poles, I don't want to nerf that aspect of the game anymore than it already is. Ai missions are currently running well. I haven't had any issues nor heard many complaints. I will be changing a few things in the future and creating a few custom missions that I am certain you will love. Again it takes time, but if anyone is good at scripting, please get in touch. I like the idea of having a travel agent. talk about a gold plated apocalyptic map - lol. This is possible and doable with the current mechanics and is something that I could have done. The scripting I would have to hire a developer for as it would use all my time and thus expensive. But I will take this into consideration down the road. Back to the dome discussion, I am thinking as well about maybe adding in a new trader to the map. This trader would only be accessible to donors and would be within a dome. No OP weapons can be purchased here, but more or less cosmetic items. How about some sweet skins, or some fun items such as police cars, fire trucks, bobble coptors, etc. We could have a lot of fun. Trader Cities are running well. There have been a few instances of people breaking the 500m rule, but we're usually on the ball with taking care of these players quickly. Side Chat use for voice is NOT permitted. In fact. Doing so will get you kicked and you may lose your weapon and backpack because it will not write your inventory to the database. To prevent accidental clicking - you can re-bind your voice key to something less easy to hit by mistake. I will be recruiting some new moderators with access to spectate people on the map. As we know - admin abuse is rampant across Dayz, and we've only had once instance of it on our server which was dealt with properly. To hire on new admins, mods - means we need to trust you. You do this by following the rules, being active in the forums, and helping new players. You can be in a clan, and donators do get preferential treatment as they are themselves investing in the server, however I do not mean that all donators can get admin. What I mean is that it is also part of the decision process. You do not have to be a donator to apply. So Indestructlble vs Destructlble. Possible weekends with destructible off. Possible Domes with only say 5 on the server at any time. Let me know your food for thought and thank you again for the suggestions. Keep them coming!
Hey I enjoy having a indestructible base only because yeah people do like to wreck each others vehicles too much when there not on :/ it causes problems. but the idea of not being able to raid others and be raided by others ruins the dayz feel, so i am all for the weekend raids but not the full destructible bases. Ai Missions are too easy as anyone with a vodnik can run them over without dying and gain from around 1-2 briefs of gold per mission easily. raising the difficulty of the ai would prevent this and also giving them rpg's like the good old days of epoch Can we have the no retreating to safe zone whiles in a fight rule as people use it as a quick to get too place if they suck to bad to complete the kill of another player. Travel agent sounds good I would be happy to moderate the server for you as i am in another timezone and is on sometimes when no admins are as long as people understand that i play dayz legit and strongly agrre not to abuse the few abilities given to help others when needed. Domes would be way too OP. Additional areas on the map and airfields would be a cool feature to diamondgamers. More vehicles and guns should be added to the traders along with more detail on what items/bases/vehicles people can purchase as vip are. Cheers -Luke
Again, I'm new, but I'm enjoying the server so far. Personally, I hate coming on to find my base destroyed! But I'm all for it, really. You get more of the feel of DayZ, IMHO, if you know that can happen. You also learn to employ other methods to keep your stuff safe, such as location, smaller bases, or even secondary/back up base area. I'm fine with either, though, as knowing I won't come back to a completely crushed base is a nice feeling too. " I really like this idea. A subscriber should be given a few perks, and we all know they shouldn't be overwhelming. I love the thought of having a certain skin, maybe a better ghillie or some specific skin that I think fits my 'character'. Maybe being able to buy that blacked out FBI-looking police car? Cause that thing's pretty! Yeah, I like this idea. I don't know if the domes would be needed, but it definitely defines who is and who is not a donator/subscriber. I also want to see that Travel Agent! LOL How cool would that be? And definitely First!
What about being able to paint vehicles? Was that ever modded in for ARMA II/DayZ? Also, my apologies for having multiple posts. Ideas hit me throughout my day, not all at once.
Could there be a way for one-time donators to use the Elite base for a short time? Maybe a week or something after their donation is received? Could we get a list of all the vehicles, so we can look through them and see what we want to buy before we pay for it? I know you were working on doing this in game, but maybe something on the forums we can browse? Maybe with both images and stats, such as cargo capacity or general guidelines about speeds? Any chance we could change a coastal trader to a regular trader set up? Add it around the boat trader maybe? Or add one? Let me say that nothing has to change for me to keep enjoying this server. Sincerely, you guys are rocking it! I'm telling all my friends. Both of them. But I run into things playing and wonder if there could be changes, and figure since you asked then I would offer.
I think its great your posting ideas, rusty handles the elite trader and such, but on that note I can take screen shots of the vics and post them so you guys get a idea about what your buying.
