So if you have noticed the Dayz Server has been down all day. The Issue at this moment is that the newest update for Arma 2 is A) a very large update B) switches all the servers from going through Gamespy to working through steam, the newest version of Dayz Commander was suppose to make it work through steam and once the servers were updated and everyone updated Dayz commander it should have worked fine right? If only it worked out like that. The server first went down after 2 attempts to update it and both failing when I would join them, Rusty, being human and not expecting the problem to be this difficult went to bed and because the server updating is a manual process, it wasn't getting done and no one who knew this was around to rely the message. So rusty wakes up and does the update but a new problem has occurred, although its updated, but its not "kicking into steam" as rusty stated to me. We don't know the exact problem, we are getting an error code but it shouldn't really be effecting the server. Our guess is that it should be up by tonight but if any other problems come up I will update the thread informing you guys Lastly, if you read my post on the forum from yesterday about the fix for Dayz commander, you might want to start undoing it. Once the server is back up and running in the latest version your stuff will be out of date so keep that in mind.
is the server going to be wiped? Or is all our stuff stil giong to be there
Hello Survivors! UPDATE July 27th 5:25am EST Ok, I've got everything simplified now. Step #1 - Your replacement to DayZ commander. This is ALPHA, but it works. Install this. http://dayzlauncher.com/dayz_launcher_setup.exe Step #2 - DayZ Launcher reads different folders. So you can either download Epoch again, or simply go to : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead rename @DayZ_Epoch to @DayZ_Epoch1051 Step #3 - In DayZ Launcher - search for DiamondGamers and connect. Any errors, please post in this thread. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- July 26th DayZ commander uses Gamespy to connect and track servers. As of immefiately, Gamespy is going offline - DayZ commander is doing patches to "piggy back" onto the steam server listing API which is why we've had to use "custom parameters" ( via settings - -mod=@overwatch... etc. in order to connect. So moving forward. We're now running version 1.63 of Arma II - with operation arrowhead at build 125548. The server is officially up and running. Database and everything else is as it was. Zombies are getting hungry, so let's get back in.
Server will not be wiped to my knowledge. If something like that does occur and we dont have any backups people will be reimbursed but i don't think it will come to that Edit: Just talked to rusty, it will not be wiped. Its an Arma 2 update, not Epoch or Overwatch so dont worry about your items

All Hail Lord Rusty! Seems to be working great, however the server appears to be reset to my lowly eyes.
Also note that you will be starting with a default loadout. This is because you are using a different UID now then the one Gamespy provided for you. The database has no recollection of your "new" uid. Your base, vehicles, etc. should all be intact.
I took it back down to do a couple of small changes. I'll have it back up shortly.
On the new dayz launcher I also had to rename my dayz folder. If you notice though on it, the mod list will tell you what the folder needs to be named so its really easy to use.
Just checking, as the DayZ room description still says not to use Commander, but I use it. I'm assuming it's updated and ready to go, but since the room message is the same I wanted to be sure. Hate to mess up something server-side.
Just call me Al.
no al, I am sure you fine. This message was more for when game spy first shut down.
