Currently been trying to craft machine frames, and generators. Have the proper items in the crafting grid, item shows up in the "output" spot, but it won't let me take it out/craft the item.
Solved. I was using a worktable to craft it. worktables work great to make batteries in mass, as well as making generators into other items such as solar panels, but certain items are not compatible. The battery can not be used as a material for a generator for example.
Also, machine frames have the iron crafting recipe disabled, gotta use steel
