Why is there not a Star Citizen thread yet? If you don't know what Star Citizen is, then I don't like you. Star Citizen is (or will be) an MMORPG on a higher level than all others. The idea behind it is that you're a captain (or a crew member, your choice) of a space ship, and you can do whatever you want. You can be a mercenary, smuggler, robber, merchant, space trucker, factory owner, colonizer, soldier, bounty hunter, etc. It's not a point and click adventure like Eve, either. (Please tell me I rustled someone with that.) You can actually dogfight in space, take it to the enemy's atmosphere, experience atmospheric combat, land on their planet with your fellow squad mates, and battle it out in an actual firefight that won't skimp out on quality. The reason I make these promises is because Cloud Imperium Games has the best of the best working on this. All of them have good track records. The CEO has spent a lot of time making good games and movies. A lot of the employees worked on things like Star Trek, Star Wars, and other famous movies/video games, so you can definitely trust that it's not a scheme. If you want to see the graphical fidelity, which is really impressive, then watch this video. They use approximately 100,000 polys for every character in the game. By the way, the current Hornet's cockpit has a lot more polys and is generally better now. This trailer is rendered in-engine and uses the same models as the game. Awesome! Installing now!
Did you try it? I only played for an hour and a bit...my initial impression was...dang, people think NS2 has a steep learning curve? Learning Star Citizen is gonna be way steeper. Like every button on the keyboard does something when you're flying a ship...there are even combination buttons to do certain things, like hold down ALT + TAB and move the mouse around to look around the cockpit. That turned me off a bit. Also, in terms of the space ship combat - the controls were wayyy too sensitive, so I'd have to recalibrate my mouse and everything. So, I ended up only playing it for a short time. I was really optimistic for this game, but now I'm not really sure...But who am I kidding, I'll prob still buy it.

What do you think of this? https://robertsspaceindustries.com/p...t-Pack-Digital
More ships than I'd know what to do with, haha. I'm probably gonna get a cheap ship at launch, check out the gameplay and learn the basics. Then, if I like what I see, I'll look at getting a better one. That package might be good if you buy in as a group though...It would be awesome to have Diamond Gamers team. Crazy how expensive some of the ships are though...the most expensive on the site is around $10,000. Don't really like that - pay to win tends to ruin games.

Unless you are winning, no? lol j/k. I agree. I'm not really up to the fighting, but more the economy, repairs, grinding. etc. That's what I like. The odd dogfight would be cool but really It would be neat just to fly around and check out different things hidden around a virtual universe.
I like the idea of being a space pirate, raiding ships, stealing cargo and being hunted by the 'good guys' haha. Or being a bounty hunter, hunting the space pirates....It'll be interesting to see what the best ways to generate 'income' are though...that'll probably dictate how I end up playing.
