I'm looking at the idea of getting a [100 - 200 slot] rust server up. I understand that there are a lot of denial of service attacks on various servers. We would most likely have the same problems until the Rust developers can patch the issues. My question to the community is - Do we want our own Rust Server? Will you use it? ( I know people are already situated on third party servers ) What should we get in terms of slottage ( 100, 120, 150, 200, 500 )? How much do you play Rust? Would you be willing to help administrate it? What are your other thoughts? Please show interest by replying to this thread Thanks! ~Rusty
seeing how it's still a Early Access Game... I would say to hold off on it until later... so it is more finished and it has a more player base... but it's hard to tell with alot of games like this.

I love the idea of a Rust server but as Kizer says, we should hold of since it is in alpha. once the buggynessnessness (and insane amount of hacks) is fixed I was actually gonna start playing it more regularly.
Meow?
How about now? We can haz Rust server now?
Ok I love Rust, and I love how diamond gaming has a server now but there are a few problems with Rust servers I will fill you in. After wipe is the freshest time to get new blood onto a server. A couple weeks after that you will be hard to get more players unless it is friends of people on there as Rust endgame is about denying progression of other players as you can just stockpile so much C4 by crafting it (I know this is a nocraftc4 server but opposite problem happens where the bases are much too large to be blown into) control over the drops and parts of the map will be done by large groups as people will form up together after killing one another to fight a common enemy, this usually can keep happening until there are two factions left once one faction wins, the server dies usually that is if it lasts that long after wipe, and people migrate to a server closer to wipe (at a certain point it becomes nigh on impossible without help from a player on such a server to actually get to someones loot room too many doors I've made houses like this) There are quite a few problems attributing to this as resources being too easy to get and to easy to keep if you know what your doing especially in large groups. It's very neat to see these little organizations get formed over the course of a couple weeks playing on a server. Anyway, don't let my negative thoughts stop you from playing rust, it is an amazing game, just early alpha. Conceivably if someone wanted to play on the server and form two opposing factions that would never ally but would help others players could create a good server even in the current environment. Anyway if I see you on Rust I'll be sure to lay some arrows in your backs
This is a great game, I've been playing on an 80 slot server and I never have to run far to see someone else. A monthly wipe is a good idea, it encourages new players to join while still giving server veterans plenty of time to assert their dominance. I've really gotten into this game...so fun. It's like mincraft without the mindless easiness and dayz without the hours of running alone through woods.
Umm you know me. Burr. I have a pipe shotgun. Da red bear die
Having trouble connecting to the server

I shut this beast down due to inactivity and lack of interest.
