Le diamants- I felt the need to come on here and share an experience I had just now. We all love good games and I know when you start up NS2 you're secretly praying for a good match just like me. And when you do get a good match, you pray even harder some dick doesn't ruin it... Earlier this evening, I was in a server (not DMD, was full) with a friend I play with regularly. After a quick stomp on rines, a new game was about to start and a few more players joined. We both immediately recognized them as good players. I won't name any names but one was even associated with the UWE team if my memory serves me right, and another was sporting a tag from a well known comp team. We both figured we were about to get shit-stomped since we were on aliens and the other 3 were all on marines but decided to stay and play it out anyway. Even when the game started others on our team were already calling 'gg' but we had a decent khamm so I was skeptical. The map was Eclipse and we started in maint. I immediately went gorge after my first death and got a tunnel built going to comp/south. After 15 minutes of a brutal struggle on both teams with big losses including our best fade and lerk, we seemed to be keeping them at bay from building up eclipse. And after we got a couple Onos obn the field with a gorge backing it up, it seemed we had taken control of the game. It was right around this time the Marines star players.... rage quit!!! Mind you this game was not "over" and there was still work to be done. After 20 minutes of what I and others call an AMAZING back-and-forth struggle, these guys give up at the first sign of potential defeat? And right after they quit the Marines realize their chances went from OK to virtually 0% and conceded. The win was great and felt earned but I kinda wish we were able to finish it, at least to the point where we solidified our map control and dropped a 3rd hive. But... instead I get three sore losers who would rather leave than face the embarrassment of a possible loss... sad. Just wanted to get that off my chest. In a nutshell, a game that seemed completely stacked against us turned out to be THE BEST game I've played on Eclipse and when we barely begin to taste that potential victory... you're 3 best opponents rage quit and force the game to be over right then and there. I'll admit, it felt good to make them rage, but I'd prefer to end the game accordingly and engage in the lighthearted trash talk that follows inside the RR. Anybody else seen similar behavior during what you call a good game?

Ehh I leave some games when we're losing on marines because Marine turtling is so boring. But they were probably just looking for a Pub Stomp if they came to the server together and left together.
We all leave games we know we lost. Especially games that get decided in the first 5 minutes, but this wasn't one of those. When I'm in a game that has a good back and forth i'll almost always play it out till the end even if I lose. I'll take a good game loss over a bad game win any day.
Players who think they're better than others in this game need to fuel their egos, so if they're losing they will quit. It's a damn shame, and you wouldn't expect it in a big game like the one you were talking about Venga. But eh, what can you do. People will be people. To be honest, I feel like a lot of people who play online games and act with this attitude do it to make up for how woeful their actual life is. Rusty and I encountered a rather vile example on the server once, where he was constantly making fun of others. To our delight, his profile picture in fact highlighted the very insults he was dishing out! Thankfully, no one I've met in the Diamonds community is like this, which is why its such a good community!
I Think I remember that match!!! that was hilarious! we thought we were gonna lose that one. but fxck no! they ran like beetches!

Maybe they had a group gynecologist appointment they had to get to and it wasn't a rage quit.
I'm ok with losing, I leave if a team has shown no ability to work together in any way. I had games where all we needed to do to win is have everyone fallow a "WAYPOINT" with everyone yelling to go there... and still have half the team run off to.... look at butterflies or sum shit like that. I admit, I do not have any faith in other players anymore.

I just hate when people sit around in spawn...or the onos that spends 10 minutes taking out power nodes the marines aren't even using. This thread is now about types of terrible teammates. Go.
I feel ya Kizer. only people that I have faith in is our own regulars because they USE their ears.
oh and for Honorable, the types of teammates I hate are those that run around asking for a weld and never.....NEVER have their own so that they could return the favor. Even after you tell them you are gonna drop your own so they could do it
