    HL3 announcement?!

Could be cool but what market gap is it really filling? I already plug my TV into my computer all the time to run games on it... how will this be any different? I guess an improvement in performance over that would be nice. Seems like overkill to me but I'll always take what I can get for free.
I think I'm most excited for the "family sharing" feature that's coming. Sharing games across steam accounts... absolutely.

Lol, that was my thought as well. The 0+0 sign could be Freeman's glasses, haha. I think it's a longshot, but my fingers are still crossed.

I think the biggest market it could fill would be the price-point one. I mean if this little $300 (purely a guess, a low priced system is my point) can run steam games/music/tv/whatever, would you not consider picking one up? It's especially cool that they are going to have quite a few different models to choose from, most likely based on performance from what I've read. I know quite a few people (myself included) lug their comps out to the living room from time to time to game on the big screen (talk about a PITA for me, steel full atx and 4-5 hdd's, it's heavy as crap), but if a little box can do it, I'm on board.

I'm just really curious to see the new OS more then anything. I always love scoping out new OS's, minus Windows 8....

And fuuuuuuuuuudge yes on the family sharing! that's going to be awesome.

yeah i was leaning towards that as well, especially with the 0+0 sign. it'll be different to use that's for sure. im still much more a mouse/keyboard guy, i have a hard time believing that it will be more precise then a mouse.

Not particularly excited. I almost never use a console... The games tend to lack depth, among other things. I don't even own an HD tv. I am mildly curious what they think they can do with a gamepad though.

its so much more then a console though. its a microcomputer with its own custom linux based OS with specs to run steam games/tv/movies whatever you want. no more lugging the tower out to the living room. all you need is that box and a mouse and keyboard and your set.

price will be the main factor in whether or not I get a controller. by the specs/look of it, it'll prolly almost cost as much as my mouse and keyboard.

I think Steam controller will be most useful since even though when Steam games say "full controller support" it really means X-Box controller support. I actually went out and got a wireless 360 controller but I have software issues with it so I haven't used it much. A direct plug and play controller would be great though.

I really don't see SteamOS as much of a game changer, yet. Big Picture works fine.

Steam machines...money makers. That's all. None of them seem really special. You could do the same thing for less with a home-theatre PC case. You could even put SteamOS on it yourself. If at some point I decide I need to run SteamOS I'll make my own Steam machine.

I think that's kind of the point... it's an easy all-in-one for people that don't want to build their own. My plan is to turn my current computer into a home-theater PC after building a new PC. I'm excited to see what comes from all of it
